Ornamental Onion, Drumstick Allium

Allium 'Beau Regard'

Allium 'Beau Regard'
An award-winning robust, long-flowering compact allium, 'Beau Regard' bears huge dense spheres (20cm; 8") of tiny metallic mauve star-shaped flowers for some eight weeks between late April and mid June. This is probably the best purple mid-height allium for April onwards. Like Allium 'Globemaster', 'Beau Regard' is a hybrid from A. cristophii and A. macleanii, and it won't come true seed. Propagate by bulbils.
