Giant Allium, Ornamental Onion

Allium 'Gladiator'

Allium 'Gladiator'
Quite an early flowering tall allium, Gladiator bears pink-lilac spherical flowers on strong 150cm (5') stems for about five weeks between May and June It flowers at the same time as the taller, Allium altissimum 'Goliath' - planting Alliums of different heights together creates a more dynamic and naturalistic effect. A. Gladiator is a hybrid (A. aflatunense x A.elatum) and can't be propagated from seed. The RHS has awarded it the AGM.
