This is an unusual little allium with drooping rather than spherical flower heads, each bearing tight clusters of largish bell-shaped deep pink-violet flowers. Leaves are deep green and grassy.

Allium cyathophorum hails from China and will tolerate shade, moisture and acidic soil better than most.
