Yellow OnionAllium flavum
This short yellow Allium won't stop traffic, but its easygoing habit and versatility will earn its keep. Height is variable, but umbels of waxy bell-shaped flowers are clustered atop blue stems usually about 30cm (1') high. Long grassy leaves are deep green to glaucous. Allium flavum nanum is a dwarf form just 15cm (6") high.

Native to Southern Europe, Allium Flavum is easy to grow from seed, germinating at room temperature and flowering the same year if sown early enough.
