Although this is probably the second most popular Species Tulip, after Tulip tarda, it's still quite rare. Very pretty rose-lilac soup-bowl flowers with yellow base and heart pop up in early April, and come back every year without being lifted, as long as the soil isn't waterlogged in winter.
