What is SmartPlants?
SmartPlants is a free service for swapping, buying and selling plants. How are my plants advertised?
In two ways: 1) On SmartPlants home page, where the latest plants offered, wanted and for sale are listed, and in SmartPlants Plantfinder.
2) In your own Plant List and Website.
Do I need to be a member to swap plants?
You can contact suppliers and other members without joining SmartPlants, but if you wish to add your own plants to SmartPlants, you need to join.
Can I sell Plants on SmartPlants?
Yes, you can add a Paypal Buy Now button to individual plants.
Will my email address be visible to other users?
No. Users contact you via a contact form.
The links and navigation bars in my Plant List are not relevant to my plants. Can I change them?
Yes, all new Plant Lists are created with the same navigation bars and pages. See Navigation in help to see how to change them.
Can I host my Plant List and Website on my server?
You can copy all your website pages to your own server if you wish. Only the search tool visits SmartPlants' website to return a list of relevant plants to your website. This process is invisible to your users and only required because the search tool uses server scripting (ASP.NET), which most basic website packages do not include. Can I have my own domain name?
Yes. For hosting at your own domain (eg www.companyname.com), we charge £12 $20/month. Please Email Us.
