These are among the last and largest Tulips to flower. Shaggy-petalled flowers are carried on tall stems, making them great for cut flowers as well as for borders

Growing Tips

 

Plant Parrot Tulips in a sheltered position, out of extreme wind and cold

 

Plant bulbs about 8cm (3") apart

 

Plant bulbs deep for more stability and to deter hungry rodents

 

If you're looking companions, Lily Flowered Tulips, Double and Single Late Tulips, Darwin Hubrids, most Viridiflora Tulips and some Fringed Tulips also flower in May
